The appeal of the Peaky Blinders

The television series, Peaky Blinders has caught the imagination of many viewers over the last few years, including myself.  The popularity of the series prompted me to produce some artwork.  The pictures above are samples of just some of the artwork that I have created to commemorate the series.  Three different mediums were used.  Oil paint, acrylic paint and digital art created with the Brushes app on my iPad.
The close up of Tommy Shelby's face was the oil work.  The monochrome, smokey silhouette was painted very quickly in acrylic.  The high definition painting is the digital version, and I added a little bit of text to make it look like a book cover or DVD sleeve.  All of them helped me in different ways in my progress as an artist.  It is important to me to create work in several mediums.  One of the reasons for this is that it stops me from becoming stale.
