O Fortuna

Another musically inspired piece.  I am a big fan of Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana.    This little pen and wash sketch is my vision of the energy in that first measure of 'O Fortuna'.
This again was created with a broken plastic fork and a few light sweeps of watercolour.

  1. Went to see a production of that many years ago at Huddersfield Town Hall...... very energising and you have definitely captured that here.... well done Brian!!!

  3. Thanks Sandra. My idea was to use anything that wasn't designed for use as a pen. An old twig would have served just as well.
Judith, I am so jealous. I would love to see a production of Carmina Burana.

  5. One other thought about this. I have an ambition to do three paintings in abstract form depicting the first measures of O Fortuna. The colour would represent the music and energy and I had the idea of stencilling the Latin lyrics over the three paintings. Only problem is, I don't do abstract work!

  6. Another fine example of beautiful line. You have provided the best rationale for junk food that I've come across.
